Zach Green

Web Developer at Settlor, in Denver, Colorado.

Full-stack work on the in-house platform a title and escrow company runs on: Python, Flask and PostgreSQL on the back end, Vue and TypeScript on the front end. I want to know why things work, and I keep my tools and dependencies current.

Experience

  1. to present

    Web Developer

    Settlor

A title insurance and escrow company that runs on its own software: an internal operations platform for title, closing, escrow accounting and e-recording, client portals for lenders and agents, and a public API.

    • Led a cross-repo upgrade to Python 3.14 on new Debian base images in 2026: got the code ready for SQLAlchemy 2.0, moved to Node 24, pinned exact dependency versions and gated image builds on vulnerability scans. About 650 commits across about 23 repositories.
    • Built a remote print service end to end, as its only developer: a Windows service at office sites that takes print jobs from the cloud app and drives local printers over IPP, with a job queue, retries, a web admin page and a signed installer.
    • The largest single contributor to the in-house Vue design system, with about 400 of about 1,300 commits, and to moving screens off the older Vue.
    • Built FastAPI endpoints for the public API, led the move to schemas written natively for the latest version of Pydantic, and rolled out type checking with ty, advisory first and then blocking.

Project

tagshelf

Go, for Windows and Linux, since

Sorts audio files into a music library by their tags. It sets identical copies aside instead of deleting them, and records every move so a run can be undone.

  • A CLI for runs, and a terminal UI for the files that need a person: fixing tags, MusicBrainz lookups, choosing which duplicate to keep.
  • Static builds for Windows (amd64) and Linux (amd64 and arm64) that need no C library, with CI on GitHub and checksummed releases.
  • Does a dry run first, never deletes an audio file, and migrates its own database on upgrade, keeping a backup of the old one.
